Counter-flow cooling towers feature a design where the water flow direction is opposite to the air flow. In these towers, water enters from the top and flows down through the fill media while air is drawn upward from the bottom of the tower. This counter-current flow design maximizes heat transfer efficiency by allowing the warmest water to come into contact with the coolest air. Counter-flow cooling towers are preferred for their high efficiency, reduced water usage, and suitability for large-scale industrial cooling applications.
